When the Mounting NYC crew shows up at your door, we have our big backpacks stuffed full of gear. Over the course of the installation you may find yourself wondering: “What are they using? What does that thing do?”
Every Mounting NYC technician is equipped with a standardized bag of equipment, meaning your technician will arrive with the right tools, every time. Unlike other handymen, MNYC prides themselves on clean, organized bags, which translates directly into a clean and organized workspace, ensuring a quality final product.

The “Trusty Measuring Tape” - Each technician carries their own personalized measuring tape that has been with them for hundreds of jobs. It is precise, reliable, and an essential tool in any technicians kit.
The Little Stuff
The “Laser” - Perfect for cats, and mounting! This device emits a beam of light that is perfectly straight: allowing your technician to mount with precision and accuracy. Each technician carries a pocket-sized laser, travel size! However, on larger jobs, MNYC utilizes a special laser that covers 360 degrees and can light up the whole room!
The “Stud Finder” - This helpful tool shows us where the builders placed the studs so you can be confident your TV is sturdy and secure. It completley takes out the guesswork, allowing for a quicker installation, and fewer unnecessary holes in your apartment.
The “Painters Tape” - Perfect for outlining TVs, marking out art placement, and taping trash bags to walls. This tape is sticky enough to get the job done, without risking peeling the paint. We go nowhere without it!
The “LED Level” - From art, to TVs, to cord covers, this handy device lights up allowing a perfect level for all the parts of your home.
The Drills
The “Impact Driver” - This is for screwing things in, putting furniture together, and fastering brackets to TVs. The clicking you hear coming from the “impact driver” is the drill letting the technician know when it is just right so we don’t over-tighten and damage anything.
The “Hammer Drill” - This drill has one purpose: putting holes in walls. Delicate enough to put precise holes in drywall, yet powerful enough to drill through brick and concrete. This drill packs a punch and does its job well.
The Miscellaneous
The “Everything Box” - From screws to anchors to washers, this thing has it all. As opposed to your previous handyman, we don’t dig around the bottom of the bag for four different mismatched anchors. We carry tested and standardized anchors perfect for any material. When this gets pulled out, you know it’s about to go down.
The “Trash Bags” - A staple of the MNYC kit is the trash bag. A simple yet effective cleaning device. Taped under drilling, it provides protection for your floors and carpets as it catches the dust! Placed on the floor, it keeps tools and dirt off of your carpet to keep your space as clean as when we arrived. Finally, it’s perfect for housing all the garbage and dust from the job. We leave your space cleaner than we found it, taking all cardboard and plastic from the job.
